The Countdown Begins...

Well folks, this is it.  In 10 days, I continue my journey to South Korea.  Yes, yes, I said continue.  This has been a long time coming and I'm so excited!!  Lemmie provide some background for those who's initial response was "huh, what, when did this happen?"...lol.

I've always wanted to travel.  I believe it's in my blood and starting now am creating a life where I can work, live and travel anywhere I desire.  After graduating high school, I'd hoped to take a year off and travel around Europe.  Sadly, I wasn't able to.  Now, many years later, the desire is as strong if not stronger than ever, and this time...I'm not going to let anything get in the way.

I've been praying about this for quite some time and God has been opening doors I never thought possible.  He's been guiding me every step of the way.  While I'm about to travel halfway around the world to all new EVERYTHING, I'm at peace because I know I'm supposed to do this and more importantly, God's with me wherever I go.  I'll explain more of the process at a later date...you'll have to stay tuned ;)

So, details right??  As mentioned, I leave in 10 days, August 24, 2012.  I'll be away for the next year and hope to travel to several different countries and cities in Asia while I'm there.  I'll have a small apartment and no car (oh I'm gonna miss my baby).  I'll be teaching English to children in an elementary public school in Seoul, South Korea.  Love the little ones, not too fond of the older ones...lol.  I'm excited to learn Korean, try new foods, and navigate my way around a new city.

It's hard to put into words all that I'm feeling and experiencing but I'm making a commitment to keep this blog going.  This will be my "lifeline" home to and with all of you.  I'm asking you to please read, comment and during those times when I'm so homesick it hurts, encourage.  Don't let me give up.  Don't let me stop writing.

As you may notice, on the left side of my blog is a Bucket List.  What's that for?  Well, I'm glad you asked.  I want to make sure I take full advantage of this next year and I want to share this experience with you.  Do some research, check some things out.  If you find something awesome you think I should do, see, experience, taste...lol...post it to the Bucket List.  I'll make sure to do as much as I can (within reason ppl) and send you back photos and of course, a story.

Please also note that this blog may not always be presented in proper English.  Rest assured, English is my first language,  and I'm an excellent teacher but this is a blog.   I'm able to write for many different forums...wink, wink.

Until next time...

  4. Ms. Nugent it took me for a quite surprise to know that my 2nd grade children would not have you for a teacher this school year, but I am so proud of you!

Continue to keep God first! Our Lord and Savior will always give you peace and comfort.

I will do my best to stay in touch with you via this medium. You are equipped with the tools to move you throughout this journey within your life. I wish you much success and happy traveling. At this time I will have to live the sights of the Asian continent through you:) See you next year...hint, hint:)

    Blessings,
    Ms. Jenkins

  5. I am soooo happy for you! This is an amazing opportunity , and I know you will take full advantage of it. You better! :-) Plus, I remember about a year ago you were talking about taking a road trip and hitting various places...by yourself!

I know God will be with you every step of the way. Continue to keep HIM first, and hey ministry is everywhere you are.

Don't forget pics, and I didn't even know you were on Instagram. Duh! So I'll be following, I'll be reading, and we'll stay connected. Looking forward to all the wonderful experiences you are going to share.

    Love ya,
    Cherelle
